Maybe this will get some conversation up and going...
Who knows anything about single action open top style pistols? I'm looking at getting a pair of them in .38 special, but can they take standard defensive ammo (not +p, but I want it to handle defensive loadings in case I have to press it into service...)? Also, I'm looking at Taylor's as they seem to be the best from just browsing around, would that be safe to say?
Last, it needs to be a shiny finish, so nickel, stainless, or hard chrome would be necessary. It would be shot frequently (I want to do sass, lets be honest) and carried as a dress gun when my state finally gets open carry, or a dress ccw if they don't. Nickel would be easiest to get (its the only finish I've seen standard on the reproduction maker's websites), but I'm worried if it will stand up to the use I'm going to put it through compared to how stainless or hard chrome would do. Any thoughts on that? It's pretty humid where I live, so that combined with it needing to be (as my girlfriend calls it) 'pretty'.
