Post BUG OUT KITS
what have you guys got in your emergency packs, go to bags, and bugouts? here is my kit, and the stuff inside.

this is whats in the butt pack

main pack contains tent, sleeping bag, water purification, tent repair, flair gun, poncho, wire cutters, extra cloths, some hardtack, mini-mag light, tooth brush, duct tape, 550 cord, machete, and some 5.56

any suggestions? i have a bunch more room, and i can still jog with all this stuff so i don't mind the weight.

More duct tape and more 550 cord. If you are really trying to figure out how to fill up the space, then you probably have everything you need already so bring more ammo as well. Once I have all the stuff I need, there are 4 things I grab seconds on: ammo, 550, duct tape, and dry socks. The only thing worse than running out of ammo is running out of ammo with wet feet!

more socks is a good idea, i have three pair in that plastic bag. I think i have enough ammo though, counting the rounds in the chest rig plus the ones in the pack gives me 370 rounds of 5.56. More might be a good idea, but with this setup i will be running out of food before i run out of ammo. Any ideas on food that is compact, calorie rich, and doesn't taste like garbage?

I'd suggest replacing those reused pop bottles with something sturdier like Nalgene water bottles.

The proper amount of ammo to carry is MORE. Think of ammo as food too. You can carry a whole deer in one .308 cartridge.

You got a can opener for those beans? Hate to dull a perfectly good knife when you could pack a light little can opener.

MREs are loaded with calories and there are a few that taste alright to kinda tasty. :| Food is fuel and all. I thought the flare gun was a nice touch. I must admit, if I had one, fighting the urge to use it just because would be difficult.

all of the cans have pull tabs on them so no worries about that, and i have explored the mre option, and while they are good, they are rather bulky and do not have the same energy per volume as canned food does. About the flair gun, bought it at walmart, wasn't too expensive. the rounds are real pricy, but the one that i fired was effective.

this pic is a little old, i have since bought a new pack and added some more of everything, i should post pics i guess
